A sweet enough movie in lots of ways, but dated in a way that 60s movies can be but 40s movies don't ever seem to be (in my opinion, of course). The plot is completely over-the-top, but that is intentional. Doris Day sings "Que Sera Sera" AGAIN, which gets a little old but its good to see her in her prime.

Generally, this is goofball stuff with a lot of semi "sophisticated" references thrown in. The main plotline involves the confusion of Day's character with a communist spy out to steal technology secrets from her boss and boyfriend. There's slapstick - examples include a ladder and a bucket and a chase through neighborhood houses at night. Contrary to the title, though Doris day does sing "Glass Bottom Boat" and her dad runs a boat tour business, the movie is not at all about that part of the backstory.

Silly, I'd make time to watch it to get a look at comedy in the 60s or at least one way it was approached.
