Very well done leading edge animation but misleading in titling. Audiences looking for a film version of the popular video console game franchise did not get that movie as the story did not deal with characters popular in the gaming franchise....

Very well done leading edge animation but misleading in titling. Audiences looking for a film version of the popular video console game franchise did not get that movie as the story did not deal with characters popular in the gaming franchise. It was an interesting story, great characterization both in voice acting and animation, and with a different title, could have stood up better.

I loved this movie alot but Hollywood and Americans will not let it survive, the japanese should not try again, even if Japan made the best CG movie ever it will get bad reviews.

Not as bad as it tries to be. Despite being as longwinded as it can be, it's still quite a nice story. Not up to par with what it's supposed to represent, but still. But most things Square started sucking around this time.

34 years after aliens invade earth, Aki Ross has nightmares that helps her to uncover the alien's agenda. She, and Dr. Sid are searching for the 8 spirits to take out the aliens. Time is running out because the council is planning to use the Zeus Cannon to terminate the aliens. Helping Aki is her romantic interist Gray and elite soilders known as the Deep Eyes. In that force is Ryan, Neil, Jane, and Gray. The nemisis of Dr. Sid is General Hein who proposes to use the Zeus Cannon. Even if the weapon doesn't destroy earth and all the aliens, Aki fears that it will give birth to more and stronger aliens. The 8 spirits are earth's last hope for survival.
