I liked it and it was funny, but like shotime said, because it was used in conjunction with the Special Olympics, then it wasn't more vicious. However, Johnny Knoxville was funny, but the story was unrealistic. 3 1/2 stars.

On paper a very good idea, but a bad execution. This movie was made in part with the Special Olympics, and that's probably the reason why the film probably wasn't more vicious. But, that's me I like that type of comedy. Johnny Knoxville gets himself into a situation in where there is no good way to get out of, or a way to get the girl, but in the end, he does anyways, where there is no way that would happen in real life. The jokes are one noters and nothing laugh out loud funny. As I said at the top...Good idea, but a very bad execution. 7/10.

While plot of "The Ringer" is pretty much the most cliched storyline in the history of cinema, I have to say that Johnny Knoxville pulled off the role of the ringer quite well. Yes, the humor was childish and crude, but if you're a fan of these types of comedies, I'd definitely recommend this one to you.
