This is a weird, weird movie. For one thing, it stars a bald Matthew McConaughey. Yes, he's bald. And he has a beard. And he has tattoos all over his body. And he's muscular. Sure as hell can't blame the casting department for using the obvious choice there. Here's the major problem with this movie: It takes itself too seriously. Just read the plot description, and you'll notice that it's utterly ridicilous. And so is the movie itself. But the cast and the director fail to take anything out of the fact that this movie is campier than a game of Counter-Strike. When you make a film like this, you either do it with an incredibly serious but fun attitude (300) or you just go way out there to create a campfest beyond belief (Batman from the 60s). But what you don't do is act like the movie you're in would be like a regular action movie, because it is not. Primarily this shows in McConaughey, who makes an absolute fool of himself by acting like his character (named Van Zan) was meant to be serious in some way. He ruins the part with his performance, to put things simple. Then we have Bale, who has proven to be a talented actor time and again, yet here he falls into the category of mundane and meaningless. His character could've been played by anyone else who's atleast somewhat talented, and the performance would've remained the same. There is one pretty good thing about this film though. The sets and the special effects are great. The landscape of the movie really looks like an apocalyptic land of destruction, and the dragons look the way dragons are supposed to look in movies like this. Also, the main color in this movie is a gorgeous mix of blue and grey, presenting some pretty darn good looking visuals. Rob Bowman, the man behind the magnificent Elektra (sarcasm there in case you didn't notice), does a pretty ok job at directing. He has a good sense of what the viewer can see of action scenes and he uses that sense to give some pretty good action choreography, primarily in the final fight of the movie. That reminds me, the ending of this movie is so horrible. It reminds me of Ryu's ending in Street Fighter 2. It's the most cliched thing ever. A short review, folks. I have no reason to make it any longer. This movie is very mediocre. It had potential to be a fun action packed flick with a good level of cheese, but it takes itself way too seriously to succeed in that.

In my opinion this was an incrediable movie with kicking-the-dragons-butt. Anyway it is about dragons appearing and taking control of the Earth (well lets just say its like Gears of War for the X360) dragons come, destroy, conquer and makes the humans almost instint. But we fight back and kill the mother****ing dragons. I really liked this movie because of the dragons and fantasy type like movie. I really like this kinda stuff. Well there my review on Reign of Fire.

I have to knock "Reign of Fire" because I thought that the plot was much too predictable as it felt like I've seen this movie a hundred times before. Not even the high profile cast could salvage this film.

I'm a not sure what to think about this movie. I didn't liked it that much because it wasn't original enough and it was predictable. The script was awful and the movie only good thing was the dragon itself since the actor had nothing good to say.
