This is a movie based on the true events of Lt. Col Hal Moore and his men in the Ia Drang Valley in 1965. Mel Gibson gives one of his best performances showing how Col Moore felt about his men. "I will leave no man behind....dead or alive. We will all come home together." These strong words prove true in the movie. The action is non-stop when they arive in the Valley of Death.

This is a great film. Each character played his and her part wonderfully. All I can really say about the film is, if you what to see action, you'll see it. If you want to learn about America, you'll learn it.

This film shows you how America came to be what it is today. Each descent, race, and gender and so on has experienced hard times--WW1 & 2,the Great Depression, Pearl Harbor, Vietnam, the Gulf , and it continues. So many young people grow up never knowing how things came to be. The men who lost there lives are forgotten. However, the brave souls that survived never forget.

Movies like We Were Soldiers, Pearl Harbor, and Windtalkers help us to remember them and for many to learn about them. This movie made me cry for the ones that fought against the Vietnamese and the families that lost a husband, father, son, and brothers. I pray that the ones that survived were able to find peace with their memories from war. I also pray the lost souls knew Christ as their Savior and are able to rest.

I will never forget you! What you fought for and what you died for! God bless each and everyone of you!

We Were Soldiers is the best Vietnam movie made to date. The movie is based on the war memoirs of retired General Harold G. Moore and reporter Joseph L. Galloway. Who take you back through time before the battle to were the troops first came in to become soilders. You will watch them prepare for war. Also gain respect and trust in the members around them. You aslo meet almost everyone from the people who are extremely ----ie, to platoon leaders who are extremely caring. You even meet my favorite charactor "SnakeSh!t"

The digital effects throughout the movie keep you on the edge of your set. For example: explosive bomber raids by Navy jets and exciting helicopter flights over the hilly Vietnamese landscape while being shot at. This movie is amazingly graphical though in violence and in gorryness. So when watching this movie except to feel like your actually sitting there while the battle is going on. We Were Soldiers is an incrediable movie about how 400 soldiers fight off 2000 vietnamese soldiers, but what makes it even more worth watching is these few soldiers only fought for the person beside them. Even though their country was sending them over there they fought for their friends, family, and last but not least country.

We Were Soldiers is the best war movie i have seen since platoon. It gives you a realistic view of what the battles were like in Vietnam. Also you feel like you make friends with these soldiers and become attached. If you are a big war movie person this movie will end up being on the top of the movies. I recommend you go out and buy this movie.

Actually, Gibson is an American of Irish decent, born in Peekskill, New York and transplanted to Australia at the age of twelve. He didn't come to notice in the States until after the no budget film Mad Max hit our shores.

"We Were Soldiers" is a solid film, well shot, and seen through the eyes of two very different men. Production value is high and the acting inspired. Strong screen play with twists.

It's not a feel good story but what movie about war is. If you are a Gibson fan, or your genre is war films, or you just want to watch a well done film, definitely check this one out!
