Can I vote six stars? This film is amazing and is definitely of the few sequels in cinema history that actually improves on the original. Terence Stamp is AWESOME as General Zod and one of the best bad guys to ever appear on screen. Who doesn't watch this movie and then repeat the line "Son of Jor-El, kneel before Zod!"?

this is my favourite num 2 then i like the 3. he has to fight 3 villians and also deciced if he want to have no powers and live a human.

Out of all the superman movies made this one is by far my fav one, superman against 3 super villians that have the same power and strengh as he does. The most exciting and action packed superman movie is this one. Classic with a classic soundtrack.

Easily the best of the Superman franchise (including Superman Returns). While credited to Richard Lester, the heavy lifting had already been done by Richard Donner, who shot much of the footage used here while he was lensing Superman 1. The action is briskly paced and the special effects, while dated, are adequate to help suspend disbelief. Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder's chemistry crackles in this film, and you can see the actors coming into their own in their roles. The supporting actors ably back them as they enact a script filled with priceless moments (Lois and Superman make love! Lois finds out Clark's big secret!), eye-poppong set pieces, and dashes of humor throughout.

Superman (1978) and Superman 2 are both the best Superman movie ever and I really as always enjoy watching Christopher Reeve play the man of Steel and Clark Kent. I think having General Zod as a main villian was a great choice. I also love the open credit music where they show scene from the first movie. This movie is really fun to watch.

The Richard Donner Cut out on DVD is even waaaaay better as it tells the story the way a director respectful of the source material wished to do it. (Not respectful? See Batman on TV starring Adam West & Burt Ward as well as Superman III and IV.) That film is not listed separately from the original release however. If it were, the Donner cut would receive 5 stars from me.

A true classic! I love the superman movies, they are really entertaining. Great for the whole family. This one is the best of the whole series.

Even better than the first movie, Superman 2 does a great job on Superman/Clark's inner conflictions and the plot was a lot more concise than the first one with the three villains being freed and Lex being better than ever ("Superman, thank god! I mean, get him!" and the doublecross).

Superman becoming human was a great concept but it seemed to be pretty quick in going back for his powers, and it set up a great twist ending.

Overall, this is the best Superman film of all five and with all the action, mythology and comedy, it's not hard to see why.

In this sequel, Superman must deal with three Kryptonian villains accidentally released from the Phantom Zone, while coping with the fact that Lois Lane has discovered that he and Clark Kent are one and the same.
