The oscar winnig movie A Beautiful mind leaves no-one untouched. Russel Crowes performance is superb, i know it won a lot of oscars but i´m not sure if he won, but if I got to choose it would be no question about it. The script is very good. Telling a true story about John Nash very well. The directing is the weakest part but it´s still great. Ron Howard can do good stuff. It´s a very strong 4 stars, it could have been 4 and a half but it´s just not enough.

It's my personal favourite, that's for sure.

Ron Howard is okay at making light, pleasant fare like Splash. But assigning him to a serious, deep intense movie like this was misguided. This film screws up the facts, and Crowe's performance was overpraised. He does nothing but nervously move his fingers and yell uneasily. Anybody could do such a shallow performance. Connelly is pretty good, but her role and screen time don't allow her much of a chance to develop her performance. The film is rather condescending and extremely overrated. I'm not sure how this won Best Picture

The short of it, a well played drama. Russell Crowe does a fairly amazing job of giving us the 'tells' of a man loosing his mind. From the stuttered cadence of his walk, to the clutching of his briefcase. All those wild eyed moments, excellent....

The short of it, a well played drama. Russell Crowe does a fairly amazing job of giving us the 'tells' of a man loosing his mind. From the stuttered cadence of his walk, to the clutching of his briefcase. All those wild eyed moments, excellent. We are left to wonder if Mr. Nash became this way through his mind or is his talent the act of his already different structure?
The story is compelling to a point, but the long course of the years that pass do little to keep the continuity of the drama. Overall, a well made movie about the struggle of a family in the face of the only adversity that can't simply be logically worked around.
