To set the record straight, I ungreatfully depise this film for the portrayal of Rocky. Even Stallone proved that this was a disappointment to the series and I agreed. Rocky V has some charm, dramatic scenes and bonds with characters but its overshadowed with disarray. This movie wasn't directed by Syvlester Stallone but John G. Avildsen, a director that seemed to not know that well of a Rocky series. Not much of a emotional storyline is insisted here, while some parts of the film has moments like Rocky revisiting Mickey's Gym having a glimpse from the past with Mickey. Avildsen isn't a bad director but a decent one, the sort of director whom first, the original director made and then suddenly another director like him getting replaced because the first movie didn't get its expectations from Hollywood that it expected. Similar to the Batman movies. While some dramatic scenes are quite emotional, the movie has one thing that angers me, such of the storyline and the characters around it. So its the last movie(back then), why not make one of the vile and most arrogant antagonist in the Rocky series, alongside with some imposter that got inspired by Rocky to box and sympathize him more than his own son. The directors think its good idea..huh? Well seriously its just too cliche and overdone in other movies in which the rookie whom that inspired by one of boxers(etc), pleaing Rocky to train him and while your there... F---ing give him the shorts of Apollo Creed and Mickey's own treasure amulet... and he does!

Well maybe I'm being overdramatic about this one, but the story ties well at the end. When Tommy becomes heavyweight champion and disdained Rocky that Washington got him to the top, Rocky feels betrayed and Tommy gets angry when the media is dubbing him, his puppet. Washington wishful thinking of deceiving Tommy went out on a brawling against Rocky. It was cliched but its Rocky movie and every movie except for Balboa is cliche but this one proves that redemption, at the end when everything that you been having left and another person claiming success but lack the heart that Rocky has. This is proven by taking back, getting revenge and even a lawsuit won't scared Rocky. Well, I just told you quite the story but really heres the real storyline with no complaining.

After successfully beaten Ivan Drago, Rocky suffered brain damage, forcing Rocky to retired. Enter Washington, a grubby arrogant, much arrogant that Apollo Creed was and vile as ever, proposed Rocky to fight his heavyweight champion. Adrian dismissed it and tells the media, Rocky retires. Crisis then adverted as some stockmarketer, possibly Washington bankrupted Rocky and everything, Rocky won from the second and third movie is gone except for his spirit, heart and his lovely wife, Adrien. Also enter Tommy Gunn, a rookie whom wants Rocky as a trainer since he is a inspirational boxer to him. Through all Rocky's speeches of his past, he then agrees. Rocky trained him, his moves and even.... EVEN! GAVE HIM APOLLO CREED BOXING SHORTS AND MICKEY'S AMULET BECAUSE HE SYMPATHIZES HIM AS A BOXER!!!

*sign*, Besides Tommy, Rocky's son, Robert whom first have a bond with each other is broken or disrupted by Tommy and disdaining him like Tommy is Rocky's real son. While Robert is in school, some bullies beat him up for his coat and his lunch money and Robert attempts to tells his father to train him, but Rocky is all caught up with Tommy and Robert has to train by himself. When Tommy Gunn made into real matches, Washington saw the opportunity to used, Tommy as a challenger for Rocky to get Balboa to come back to the ring despite his brain damage whom he found from the docters, even though it was private. Washington being the arrogant and vile bastard that he is, tries to make Tommy, the heavyweight champion, he won but everyone is outraged that Tommy disregard Rocky and was Washington that made him the champion. Tommy angered by being under Rocky's shadow, wants to fight Rocky to earn respect. Tommy outraged as he is, similar to Ivan when Creed was patrolizing him, started a rampage and even hit Paulie. To say this again, now its obvious as a cliche that Rocky will win but the ending was bitter sweet, not that Rocky isn't scared of a lawsuit but he punished his own kinda-used-to-be-son and learn from his mistakes that he should not avoid his own real son that his wife gave birth to and not some hasbin that wants to become a champion like Rocky. It is this moral sense that made me feel abit not like that disappointed, rather sympathize abit of the storyline and the moral.

This made a fair or good ending to the Rocky series back then, getting back together, develop more relationships, fighting his own beast that suffered him, brain damage in which case not fearing a lawsuit. It was a image of the Rocky series to end at this way. The charm in the series is back, while its not the same charm but some funny and sweet moments with the bonding with Rocky and Robert. The magic trick that Rocky pulled has undeniably charming and hilarious and surprised me for abit.

Stallone proves this was a disappointment and not featured this movie in Rocky Balboa stating that "it never happened." First, I assume that he wasn't a director in this movie but then, sure it was quite a disappointment because the reception wasn't received quite well, as the first movie that I saw getting review by other outlets, I sympathize with Stallone that it was a disappointment. It has heart but not the heart that Rocky has proved and abided by from over the past great years of Rocky Balboa. Overall, Rocky V is a disappointment but yet still have some charm and humourous scenes that the series has moved us. To feel the nostagia over again in this Rocky movie is worth watching but at least once. One major flaw is that the montages in this movie isn't quite good, it depicts with rap music that Rocky is doing the wrong thing, getting deceived over a inspiraling boxer, disdaining his own son and giving Tommy, you know what to wear. Im here to set the record straight. So many people as well as Stallone himself has gone on record as saying that this movie was a huge dissapointment.I completely disagree. I think the story did what it had to do which was break the formula in order to allow for a powerful and believeable ending.Despite what critics may say,Rocky 5 has heart and strong values. It does really well to show how great a character Rocky is, although sometimes misguided.Which is a very clear theme throughout the film. Theres alot of emotion tied into this movie that hits deep and hits hard. The movies plot is pretty solid,the challenge that Rocky faces i nthis movie is truly the biggest and hardest ever because, its the most emotional and psychological and forces him to learn the most important lesson of his life. Rocky's bond with his son serves as the foundation for his happiness in the future, and helps him realise he doesnt need to be in the spotlight or in the ring , because his loving family is what matters most, and by the end of the movie you feel the satisfaction and peace of mind knowing that Rocky has learned never to let anything come between his family. There couldn't possibly be a better ending to the series than the final scene. I wish alot of the negative response to this film would dissappear. I liked just about everything they put into this. The only thing I truly missed was the acting talents of Carl Weathers, but newcomers Tommy Morrison and Sage Stallone were fantastic, there was even a classic scene with the legend Burgess Meredith, that was just unforgettable. Even though Rocky 5 certainly isnt the best of the series but it definetly remains one of my favorites.

It is one of the Best and one of the biggest movie series ever! I like it very much! And I will watch all the series again and again and will give them to my children and etc!
