The film that gave birth to the modern indie cinema movement, "sex, lies..." also has the distinction of being the first film by Steven Soderbergh. The film follows Graham, returning to Baton Rouge after an extended absence, and his re-introduction to college friend John Mullany. While Graham has changed dramatically in the years following college, John has found a relatively fragile routine with his wife, Anne, and his mistress, Cynthia, who happens to be Anne's sister. The sexual landscape changes when Graham, starts an unconventional relationship with both the sisters as well.
