Mr. David Lincoln is opening a Waxwork consisting of eighteen of the most evil creatures that ever lived, and invites two college girls - China Webster and Sarah Brightman - to attend a late night private tour of the exhibits. They can bring some friends but no more than six can attend, so China and Sarah invite four friends to join them - China's wealthy ex-boyfriend Mark Loftmore, Tony, Gemma and Gemma's boyfriend James. But the teens are unaware that once someone steps into the display, they're transported into the story of the exhibit and if they believe that the illusionary world is real, they can be killed by the character of the exhibit and turned into its wax victim while the display's wax character gets their soul to become real again. Six of the exhibits have yet to claim victims, and when Tony and China don't return home the next morning, it's up to Mark and Sarah to learn the truth of the Waxwork with the help of Mark's godfather, Sir Wilfred, and stop Mr. Lincoln from bringing all eighteen evil characters of the exhibits to life.
