This movie is not as bad as many people say that it is. The plot premise for the movie is genius. An anthropomorphic duck from another planet accidentaly gets transported from his world to our world. And needless to say, it's culture shock to the tenth degree! Fortunately, there's someone who understands his plight, and is willing to help him out through these troubling times. And during the movie, it manages to transform from being a comedy, to being a romantic movie, to being a horror movie, to being a sci-fi adventure movie, and it even throws in a few good don't judge others based on their looks moments for good measure! Even though this movie is cheap by today's standards, the special effects were really excellent for their time and Howard proves that even without any special powers, a duck who's just trying to do the right thing can rise up over anything and everything that is thrown at him and save the day. That's what a good movie is all about. :idea: Enough said! ;)

Talking ducks from outer space...did Ed Wood Make this movie?
Sorry Mr. Huyck, I know, we all need to pay the bills, even you. Let's face it, the direction is minimalism to the zenith; the actors are rushing, the sets are rushed, even the special effects look like their loaded on...well, it was the eighties..and we were all doing it.
Are there saving graces to this movie, a reason to see it? No. Not really. You're suppose to want to root for the hero, but Howard is a selfish little crying tyrant whom I guess bad boy loving Lea Thompson finds charming but only in hollywood because he's a two foot tall duck for pete's sake!
Oh dead legends of Hollywood wipe away these plagues from your past!

This isn’t the worst movie ever, but it’s in the same league as the remake of Rollerball (3/10). Now, the duck looks stupid and it barely looks like a duck, the voice acting, and the voice syncing is bad, just as bad as the voice acting. His one-liners are bad, so bad they make me cringe. The special effects are below average, for the time then and now, they’re laughably bad. The music in the film is this bad 80’s music. Lea Thompson’s band, the music is so cheesy, it’s 80’s, so you know it’s bad. This may be the ultimate 80’s movie, bad acting, bad writing, worse music, roll all that up in a ball, ad you get this movie. 4/10, Pass on this unless you like to torture yourself, or you like the 80’s, which is even more torture. Although, Lea Thompson did look pretty hot.
