"Jason Voorhees returns with a new look, a new machete, and his same murderous attitude as he is awakened on a spaceship in the 25th century." 'Jason X' is a ridiculous movie in all ways imaginable. Like 99% of the numerous 'Friday the 13th' films, 'Jason X' is merely a cash-grab film; a film made with so little artistic intent that it leaves the film looking as robotic as Jason, although I think this film is even better than about 80% of the 'Friday the 13th' films simply because it has better visuals. It tries to be interesting but ends up totally boring, and on the whole is not much more than totally worthless and surprisingly misogynistic trash.

I really didn't think this movie was as bad as people says it was. I mean, sure it had some mediocre parts but it wasn't horrible. There were a lot of good laughs, and at least two or three intense scenes. I'd recommend this film to anyone who's looking for an amusing film to sit through (don't always listen to the critics), and also fans of the friday 13th series who haven't seen this one yet.

If you ask me, this is half a Friday film, half a parody of them and put together in a manor that stands out more then any of the Friday films before it.

I loved that Jason wakes up as there's sex on the ship as many like to say that it is sex that attracts him in the first place. As one that really isn't the biggest fan of Jason, (I can hardly tell the difference between any of them before 7) I have to say I actually think this one is a step over the main group of movies

In 2008, Jason Voorhees is finally captured by the U.S. Government. After several failed attempts at execution, they finally decide to put him into cryonic suspension until further notice. When a guard dislodges the IV tube that was keeping Jason comatose, Jason frees himself of his restraints and kills everyone but Rowan. Rowan successfully lures Jason to the cryonic chamber. Jason compromises the chamber by stabbing his machete through the door, which both wounds Rowan and releases the cryonic gas into the room sealing her in with him.

445 years later, Earth has been reduced to a dead shell for reasons not made clear in the film. Humans now live in space stations, starships, and the newly discovered Earth Two. Students exploring the desert-like Earth discover the ruins of the Crystal Lake Reasearch Facility and find the preserved bodies of Jason and Rowan frozen in cryostasis. They take Rowan and Jason back to their ship, Grendel, and continue toward Earth Two. Rowan is thawed out with her damaged tissue being repaired with nanotechnology; Jason, believed to be dead and beyond repair, is left for study, dissection, and eventual sale when the group's professor learns of Jason's potential value to collectors. When Rowan gains consciousness she tries to warn the crew and the students about Jason's uncanny ability to stay alive, but they assure her he's quite dead. However, Jason awakens and begins to murder everyone on the ship. During a fight, Jason is severely injured. Having fallen into the nanobot receptical, Jason's missing limbs and extensive wounds are repaired with various objects near him. Jason's missing limbs are replaced with mechanical parts, and he resumes his mission to kill the rest of the crew. Rowan and few survivors manage to blast him into space, but his body descends onto Earth Two. Two teens witness the crash and rush to go investigate.

Jason X, without a doubt, is the worst movie ever made. The idea seems promising: the most notorious serial killer on Earth now get to kick some butt in space. Space horror could be great if done right (Alien series, Event Horizon) but Jason X achieved another kind of fame by operating at the other end of spectrum. It is so bad, it is actually fun to watch.

The film demonstrates its capability of campiness from early on, as for no apparent reason all the girls onboard the space ship wear their typical I-Know-What-You-Did-Last-Summer outfit to show off their wonderful figure. The nanites special effect was pretty cool, but that would be the end of coolnes as far as visual is concerned. The rest of the film takes place in generic sci-fi corridors that express no artistic direction whatsoever. The horror device used in the film is downright predictable, and the violence isn't particularly well done. there were blood, but not much, and killing methods really aren't interesting at all. The cyborg female warrior vs. Jason was possibly the worst moment in cinema history; the fighting was cheapy shot, and the moves and winks could frighten small children and induce vomit for adults.

To its credit, the first kill commenced by Jason was absolutely beautiful, as Jason smash a girl's head to tiny bits after speed-froze it in liquid-nitro-something. It is a shame that the rest of the movie could not share the fine quality of this 15 second of glory.

Todd Farmer's script rips off that classic sci-fi horror film, replaces the acid-based monster with the hockey-masked Jason, adopts the self-mocking attitude of "Scream" and lets the heads, arms, legs and torsos fall where they may.
