The Eccentric nature of each of these quirky characters is well expressed by all those involved.
Jeffrey Wright as Jean Michel Basquiat, the graffiti artist, shows his talent for true acting in this movie.
And who can forget David Bowie as Andy Warhol. This is quite possibly the best Warhol I've seen, just enough true Andy, and just enough of the over the top strangeness. David should have been nominated for awards.
This is a character driven film, even though there are moments where the direction and cinematography get a little on the artistic side and stray into Basquiat's mind. But over all the artistic feeling of Basquiat and his entourage is left to the slow dialog and the quiet interludes.
