Babe: Pig in the City has recieved a love it or hate it reception, and, to me, it's one of the best films ever made. Yes, Babe: Pig in the City is quite a dark film, and has a much more violent exterior to it than any kid's film to date, but, Babe, as kid's film, is one big breakthrough. Babe triggers on all-new subject material that is dark and deep, but, manages to create its very own image of creative illusion with its' visually spectacular city of Metropolis, the big city, but, as well as telling a story of how society has consistent flaws, not just to animals, but, to us as people as well.

Babe: Pig in the City starts off when Babe has become a immidiate attraction. For his unusual talent from the first movie of being a "sheepig" he was won 1st prize at the farm contest, and is treated like a real celebrity, as well as reciving warm love and care from the Hoggets. But, all of that joy quickly turns when farmer James Hoggett gets pushed down a well, and ends up with a serious leg injury. Babe must go to the big city of Metropolis, and save the Hoggets' farm from huge financial trouble.

Babe: Pig in the City shows a rather graphic display of animal cruelty in the movie. The movie turns quite mean-spirited after that. Babe: Pig in the City, magically, as a film, takes a serious theme and issue, and places it with the wacky scenarios to keep it still light-headed as Babe is.

The set design and lighting is truly great in this film, but the city boths keeps a realistic study of places in a city like an alley, whilst keeping an escapist look to it. The lighting really helps some of the dark themes to be in tact, and shows a great, gloomy atmosphere for a not-so-nice scene in Pig in the City to take place.

Personally, in my point of view, Babe: Pig in the City is better than the originial, for it's more realistic plot and subject material, and keeps the emotion to be incredibly enthralling. One of the best movies I think I have seen.

The sequel to Babe, wasn't as good. It still had quite a few good scenes in it but the movie as one didn't have that magic effect that the original had. The producers and crew sure did put in alot of effort though.
