Part Dog. Part Wolf. All Hero. His story became a legend. His adventure is one you'll never forget. A dyptheria epidemic spreads thru the town of Nome, Alaska- just as a storm hits. An outcast dog, named Balto, lives on the edge of town with his Russian snow goose friend, Boris. Balto has a crush on girl huskie Jenna, who is owned by a little girl. The town tries to get medicine every way- train, plane, boat- but the storm has gotten too worse. When Jenna's girl becomes one of the sickened, Balto promises to help get the medicine. The townspeople decide to select their fastest dogs to retrieve the medicine by sled. Balto tries out, but a snobby and vicious huskie named Steele makes Balto out to be too wild for sledding. Steele is selected leader of the team, and they head off. But when even aging Steele gets lost in the storm, who will help them?
