This movie takes place in a small New Zealand town sometime in the 1950s. A young man, Lionel, who is having some 'mother issues' meets a new girl named Paquita that believes the two of them are soul mates. So Lionel agrees to go with her to the zoo. They go and have a pretty good time, but little do they know, Lionel's mother followed them. But then Lionel's mother is bit by the rare 'rat monkey'. Lionel rushes her home but she only turns into a zombie. Lionel, who loves his mother too much to kill, then tries to keep her secret underwarps but after a while, she turns turns several others into zombies as well. And so Lionel tries to keep four zombies (and one zombie baby) in his basement for as long as possible. But just how long can this last?
