Great movie, accurate Roman backrounds and scenery as well as excellent picture. Russel Crowe is the perfect fit for Gladiator's protagonist. His seriousness and masculinity accents the Gladiator in his famous statement, "I am Maximus Decimus Meridius...". The fighting scenes are great and the blood is plenty. A must see

This is still one of my fav movies of all time. The story is well done and the visual is great, not to mention all the action. Now, I do prefer the Extended cut, but the theatrical cut is still a great movie. Russel Crowe plays his role...

This is still one of my fav movies of all time. The story is well done and the visual is great, not to mention all the action. Now, I do prefer the Extended cut, but the theatrical cut is still a great movie. Russel Crowe plays his role perfectly and you can truly feel his pain. Even though his family as basically no screen time, you can feel the losse when they're killed. Even the ending to the film is great, and I think that's on thing many epic type movies fail at is the ending.

& Richard Harris in particular give excellent supporting perfomances. WELL worth an evening in front of your big-screen!

This movie comes down to an honorable man and his love for his wife and son. He begins and the Roman northern army general with a close relationship with the Ceasar. The Ceasar chooses the general to take over for him in place of his own son. The son in a jealous rage murders his farmer and commands that the general is murdered too. After both his wife and son and murdered and he close to death he is captured and sold into salvery. He becomes a gladiator known throughout the empire known as the Spaniard. He is able to extract his revenge when in man-to-man combat defeats the Ceasar. This movie is great from the story line, to the action, and the special effects. It also has the tear jearking end when he is reunited with his wife and son.
