George Newman and his friend Bob aren't having very much luck, as they have been fired from numerous jobs because of George's daydreaming. However, one day, this all changes when George's Uncle Harvey hands him the deed to Channel 62, a TV station that has been on the verge of bankruptcy for years. Though it starts out rocky, George's daydreams and ideas turn the station into a hit (with a lot of help from Stanley Spadowski, the janitor and star of Stanley Spadowski's Clubhouse)! However, this isn't all good. Channel 8 has been the top station in town for over 10 years. When owner R.J. Fletcher finds out that U-62 has beat them, he becomes furious. He contacts George's Uncle Harvey and they make a deal that R.J. will own Channel 62. However, George insists that his uncle gives him one more chance. To do this, he must raise $75,000 by Friday night. Will George get the money and save the station, or will R.J. get the rights and turn it into a parking lot?
