This eclectic cast and lethargic story make one deeply engrossing films.
Overall, the story is pretty straight forward, but we find that Karl may not be as slow as everyone thinks he is.
The dialog is top-notch, and although at times, slightly over zealous, it still leaves one in a quandary as to the next move Karl will make in his expanding story.
Dwight Yoakam, perfect! His off color personality plays hands over feet perfectly in this part.
John Ritter: it's too bad he's gone, with him taking a look at parts like this we finally get to see Mr. Ritter do some serious acting. The dark slow pace. The long views of Southern feel. The dark fear and sadness that even the young Frank feels. All elements that make this tragic tale well crafted and worthy of the attention it was garnered.
