This is a guilty-pleasure movie. It's not horrible (yes it is) but it's entertaining to say the least. The Blanka scenes were kinda neat.

I agree that Guile should have been played by an American (or at least somebody who didn't have such a thick European accent), and that some of the characters aren't portrayed well, but come on! The acting was good, not great, but good. The lines weren't cheesy (they are some of the best movie quotes I've ever heard, actually) and the story wasn't bad.

How could you even criticize this movie? What did they have to go on? Street Fighter II didn't leave them with much of a story, have you ever considered that?

In response to psycho_path's review, there is Hadouken (when Ryu is fighting Vega), their is Sonic Kick (when Guile is fighting Bison he does it like three times), there is Sonic Boom (when Guile throw his boot knife at the man who was trying to raise the alarm), as well as Shoryuken.

Okay, so maybe Guile didn't yell "Sonic Boom!" when he threw the knife, but how stupid would that be?

You say it has cheesy lines, but you think it would be cool if the characters announced when they were doing something? Really?

I'll admit that some of the fighting isn't very convincing, but that's not enough to give it a 1 star review!

Street Fighter is absolutely bad. There's no Hadouken, no Sonic Boom, no Sonic Kick, no Tiger Uppercut, no nothing. What a letdown. There aren't any qualities or elements from the video game whatsoever. And why the hell Guile is played by a Belgian actor and not an American actor? Just because Jean Claude Van Damme was big during the 90's doesn't mean he fits to be Guile. The acting cast could've been better and so could the story. The jokes are lame, the lines are cheesy, and the story is more like a GI Joe plot than a true Street Fighting story that involves people fighting on the streets like in the video game. This movie is bad. It doesn't suck...but it's just bad.

I don't know why people give this movie a bad rap. It isn't THAT bad! There's action, adventure, revenge, & drama which is everything a great movie based on a video game SHOULD have! It definitely does a better job of being a video game movie...
