Even though it isn't a good movie I'd take this film any day over its sequel. At least they made some effort to make the characters resemble their video game counterparts.

Street Fighter is absolutely bad. There's no Hadouken, no Sonic Boom, no Sonic Kick, no Tiger Uppercut, no nothing. What a letdown. There aren't any qualities or elements from the video game whatsoever. And why the hell Guile is played by a Belgian actor and not an American actor? Just because Jean Claude Van Damme was big during the 90's doesn't mean he fits to be Guile. The acting cast could've been better and so could the story. The jokes are lame, the lines are cheesy, and the story is more like a GI Joe plot than a true Street Fighting story that involves people fighting on the streets like in the video game. This movie is bad. It doesn't suck...but it's just bad.

I don't know why people give this movie a bad rap. It isn't THAT bad! There's action, adventure, revenge, & drama which is everything a great movie based on a video game SHOULD have! It definitely does a better job of being a video game movie...

It definitely does a better job of being a video game movie than "Super Mario Bros. Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat" or their various sequels, which is why I wrote this review! :idea: Enough said, true believers! ;)
