Although the movie does not take the murder seriously, it is clear from the beginning on that it is not going to do that. A great movie full of memorable quotes and entertaining moments for the entire family. With a phenomenal cast, this movie really highlights some of the best acting of the time. Madeline Kahn, Martin Mull, and Tim Curry play their characters fully and really help the viewers to be encompassed in the story of the film. Using classic humor techniques "Clue" really is a laugh for all viewers.

Clue; the movie! I know it sounds like a really bad idea to base a movie on a board game. But in this case, it's really funny slapstick black humor that completely forgets it's laminated-cardboard-self, while still keeping some common elements with the original: The suspects, the rooms, and the weapons. Oh, and secret-doors.

Synopsis: 6 strangers are brought to the scary mansion at the top of the hill and given colorful psuedonyms. It's revealed that they're all being blackmailed and the blackmailer gives each of them a murder weapon. One of the guests promptly dispatches the 6-time blackmailer, and what follows is a crazy attempt to find out "Who dunnit?" and fully uncover the blackmailing scheme. Tim Curry's final exposition is a hoot! as he runs through the entire movie in 2 minutes, playing out every action and character. There are 3 different endings, and the audience can decide which one they like best. (I like first, third, then second.)

Stars: Tim Curry as the HILARIOUS Butler Wadsworth, Christopher Llyod (Doc from 'Back to the future'), and Michael McKean are the big stars, but the lesser-knowns are very funny too. 3 of the actresses are really pretty.
*I swear the cook is Kathy Bates, but the credits say it isn't her.

Anyway, this is a funny murder mystery with twists and turns. Watch it!

It was great and so is this movie.

After playing the game for year, they decided to make a movie out of it.
And boy did they do an excellent job.
It kept you on your toes because you have to pay close attention as to who was the killer.

This is a very funny film. The three endings at the end are just great, and how random it gets at points in time are also great. It is a wonderful adaptation of the board game into film. I doubt many other films would be able to this.

Incredibly well written it's the kind of film that a lot of people had no desire to see, but has to be one of the best films ever written. Truely an amazing cult classic!

I'm sure when the Clue detective game came out the last thing anyone would have suspected was a movie to be based on it. Especially one as star studded and clever as this.

Clue has allot going for it. It's chocked full of great slapstick but it has depth to it to. There are a number of satire and faux intrigue built around the setting of late 50s cold war America. And of course the biggest treat is the multiple endings. I had the joy of seeing it in a theater that showed as it was original way with only one attached ending. It was even better with the clue card they gave us at the beginning to guess whodunit. If you have acess to this type of showing take advantage of it.

The film does have a speedy pace, but that could hardly be confused with Mr. Hawks's madcap humor; instead, it involves a lot of running around through secret passages, and some slapstick routines involving dead bodies.
