Karina Lombard playing Isabel Two Decker Ludlow, she's the daugther from Decker and Pet who are working for the Colonel. Gordon Tootoosis playing One Stab, an old indian who taught everything about life to Tristan. Christina Pickles playing Isabel Ludlow, the mother of the 3 boys. Paul Desmond playing Decker, the man who's working for the colonel and he's wanted by the police. The Movie starts with Tristan hunting for a bear and cutting his finger off. During the whole movie Tristan is compared to that bear judging his temper and some other things.
The movie is about three brothers, called Tristan, Samuel and Alfred who're all in love with the same girl. (Susannah) The movie starts with Alfred and Tristan picking up Samuel from the train with his fiancee. they all have fun together and the Samuel can't stop talking about the war and wants to join the war as an officer. Susannah however don't like the idea cause she wants to settle with him. Tristan and Alfred are joining him in the army cause they've been protecting him since he was a baby. That same moment Samuel said he wants to join the war Tristan almost kissed Susannah.
Tristan and Alfred are joining him in the army cause they've been protecting him since he was a baby. Later in the war Samuel dies in an attempt to get the German and Tristan (the middle brother played by brad pitt) cuts his heart out and returns the heart to home.
While Tristan was away Alfred was trying to win Susannah for him but after Tristan returns the two fall in love. Later Tristan's going crazy cause he can't life with his lil'brother's wife.
He's leaving on a journey and when he comes back his father Colonel William Ludlow had a stroke and Alfred is married to Susannah.
When Tristan sees Isabel II, he's surprised cause she's not the little girl she used to be.
After a while Tristan marries Isabel II and they had 2 children, while Alfred and Susannah can't have children for a particular reason. Alfred doesn't lives home anymore but with Susannah in the city and he's a honored salesman and everybody wants to see him electing for gouverner. The father rejects the idea cause he knows the government only thinks of themself and he doesn't like the idea that Alfred is hanging out with the O'banion brothers. Because Tristan can't make money selling horse anymore he's going to sell beer illegal to shops. The O'banion brothers don't like this cause they are making a loss on selling their beer.
While Tristan is driving home after meeting his brother and Susannah there's a police car blocking their road and Tristan sees the O'banion brothers are looking for trouble. One police man shoots his tommy gun in the air and when Tristan looks back he sees that his wife is dead. He freaks out and beat the officer into the hospital.
His brother is telling him that he has to do time even if the police man he beat killed his wife. Later Tristan, his father, Decker and the rest wants to take their revenge and kill the O'banion brothers. They're all thinking that Alfred joined the O'banions side but just when it seems their father dies Alfred saves him. Susannah meanwhile killd herself and all they got is each other and the father.
Tristan leaves the village 'cause the police will be looking for him. In the end he meets his bear and he's killed by that bear. I think this is the best movie from Brad Pitt and in the beginning I didn't even knew of the excistence of this movie. I saw it lying between our video's and I really watched it alot. Anthony Hopkins and Brat Pitt really play together according to me just like the movie 'Meet Joe Black'. The movie is interesing and very sad cause i'ven been crying some tears off =P. The hidden message in the movie is that Tristan can't have a women. But I think I'm wrong
