One of the most powerfull films I've ever seen. Now my eyes are like plates.
A brilliant and shocking look to the heart and mind of a lonely person and a study of violence in our society that today resonates more with things like Virginia's massacre, Taxi Driver is a brilliantly directed, acted and written film that entertains, makes think, and specially haunts.
Masterpiece written from the very beggining, now my favorite Scorsese of all.
100/100.

Taxi Driver is a mediocre film hidden behind great packaging. It features a great De Niro performance, a strong script from Schrader, gritty direction from Scorsese and a nice score from Herrmann. What more could you want? Maybe something to bring...

Taxi Driver is a mediocre film hidden behind great packaging. It features a great De Niro performance, a strong script from Schrader, gritty direction from Scorsese and a nice score from Herrmann. What more could you want? Maybe something to bring it all together. That is truely what the film lacks. It is strong in all areas, but when you look at it as a whole is disappoints, and is unable to live up to the exteme hype that has been dumped on it (much like Nolan's Momento, although unlike that pile of garbage this is actually watchable and somewhat enjoyable). Of course, opinion differs and many people love the film. Rent it maybe and come to your own conclusions.

It`s a realy entertaining movie to watch, and it`s one of a kind. And the chocking ending makes this movie one of my favorite, after "The Godfather".

Yes, Robert De Niro is a brilliant actor, yes it was so gritty that after watching it I took a shower, yes it's a directorial masterpeice and yes the musical score is great, but three hours of him rambling on and writing in diaries isn't. Even the climax was over before it started and the famed quote "you talkin' to me?" was implemented badly.
It is a great idea but never kicks off, it's score is only given ecause of it's other great factors.

Taxi Driver is a terrific movie. To me it was actually quite simple to be so great and it is a classic. Robet De Niro plays a terrific roll as the Taxi Driver, IMO the second best performance he has made.

Awesome movie. It really makes you think about everything when you watch a movie as surreal as this. Robert De Niro has an awesome performance in this movie which really ties it all together.

  Acting of this sort is rare in films. It is a display of talent, which one gets in the theater, as well as a demonstration of behavior, which is what movies usually offer. Were Mr. De Niro less an actor, the character would be a sideshow freak. (Review of Original Release)
