I tried watching this film awhile back, before I had seen the television show, and I was completely lost, and had no clue what was going on, so I stopped watching it. Now, after seeing the complete series, I finally got the chance to watch this, and know what's going on. This is the the story of Teresa Banks' murder and the last seven days of Laura Palmer. David Lynch does an excellent job at showing just how much of tortured soul Laura Palmer truly was, and makes her even more of a sympathetic character. But, David Lynch does little show just what a psychopath and evil the killer truly is, and that's a tremendous let down as it was done to such a perfect pitch in the television show. There are really not that many terrifying scenes in this film, as there are a couple that I can think of off the top of my head from the television show (for one, when the killer strikes again in the television show, that's a frightening scene). A few more disappointments are that there are some big cameos missing from the characters from the television (they were shot, but not included in the film), some of the sets do not match, and some storyline inaccuracies about the night Laura Palmer died. Despite that though, it's still a great film, and a must see for any Twin Peaks fan. 10/10.
