Struggling screenwriter, Steven Phillips (Albert Brooks) was once very talented. However, when finishes his latest script, the production company lets him down and his agent tells him the horrible news, he should now go into television. Steven is now depressed and wife (Andie Macdowell) tells him to seek help from fellow screenwriter pal, Jeff Warrick (Jeff Bridges). Jeff had just penned an excellent script that he states was the help from a real muse named Sara. When Steve meets with Sara (Sharon Stone) who is in need of high class service, such as a hotel room at the Four Seasons, she calls Steve in the middle of the night to ask for meals, and Steve would also find out that Sara has a very unorthodox way of doing things.
