This is another favorate film from my favorate movie director, at least number 3 in my book. It's a fun pulp comic book action fantasy, which has an interesting plot almost similar to the anime series "Ronin Warriors". The action is also great, it has great speical effects as well as good us of wire work, and well chorigraphed martial arts.
But what makes the film really work though is one of my favorate movie/hero characters Jack Burton played brilantly by one of my favorate actors Kurt Russel. Jack Burton is sort of a represntation of the old school of action, he's a modern day cowboy. he's got the right spirit and aditude the only problem is he may be a hero but he's not very good he's a dufus; and that's what makes him great I don't see that much. There is not a dull moment with this guy, one of my favorate moments (and there is a lot of them but I don't want to give too much away) Jack fights this undead samurai and kills it with a boot knive but unfortunately he's stuck and while a fight is going on he's still trying to get himself out. I even loves how he reacts toward what's going on it's almost like how any normal person or myself would react if I ever saw things like that; half the time he's thinking "What the hell is going on here?" or in some sittuations "Are you kidding me, you want me to go in there?"
Though credit also to the supporting characters. Lo Pan (James Wan) is a funny and threatening villian. Victor Wong also funny as the might wizard. And Dennis Dun whom is the real main hero while Jack is really the sidekick, he's also funny has that mannerism that almost reminds me a little of actor Bruce Cambell.
Big Trouble in Little China is big fun.

Carpenter is a master. This movie is corny sometimes but it is amazing how it all works.
