My favorite out of the John Hughes movies. Better than the Breakfast Club. Samantha Baker turns the big 16 and the whole family forgets her birthday they remember the sisters wedding instead. She falls in love with the jock of the school and she ends up getting harrassed and followed by the geek farmer Ted. This movie was made way ahead of its time and its always a great classic to watch anytime.

Although it isn't as good as `The Breakfast Club`, this is still an enjoyably quirky comedy.

A rather basic teen comedy drama plot is successfully padded out by several entertaining performances from both main and supporting characters, managing to keep you happily entertained from the beginning of the film right through to the end.

Recommended for teen movie and John Hughes fans.

damn!! i love this movie sooo much! to be honest, the only reason why i wanted to watch this movie was because Im a Fall Out Boy song and I love their song A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More "Touch Me" but im so glad that i saw it coz its now one of my fave movies!!! its so freeking hilarious! Molly plays Sam soo well...i felt soo bad when her family forgot it was her Sweet 16! im so glad that didnt happen to me on my Sweet 16!

and i also loved Anthony Michael Halls character, who played Ted aka The Geek! he was too freeking funny! and i found the movies constant insults hilarious (like @$$wipe, etc hahaha)
