The Blues Brothers is one of my favorite movies and has been for years now. I have loved it ever since I saw it when I was 12. It is not only the acting and the humor that I love about this movie, it is the music. In most musicals it's either good music and bad acting or good acting and bad music or bad acting and bad music but this movie has the best of both worlds. Everytime I listen to a song from The Blues Brothers I get really pumped up. I even went as Elwood for Halloween, and I'm a girl. It is a shame that we had to lose John Belushi at such a young age but he eill always be remembered.

I must admit this up front- I have no objectivity at all about this movie. I know there are many who will question the 5-star rating, but what can I say- it's my personal favorite of all time, even though I know it isn't perfect.

I must admit this up front- I have no objectivity at all about this movie. I know there are many who will question the 5-star rating, but what can I say- it's my personal favorite of all time, even though I know it isn't perfect.

Ackroyd and Belushi created a comic duo that were instantly iconic, a Laurel and Hardy of the 70's. Although their comedy bits were not as patently funny on their own merits as L & H's, they benefitted enormously from the ingenious tableaus John landis surrounded them with. The gaudy action set pieces alone are worth the price of admission, and, in particular, the scene where the Brothers trash an actual entire mall could never be made today- the budget would be $200 million! The climactic car chase stands up there with the classics, and the music- My God, the music!

I defy you to find a more stellar cast of musical giants in any 10 other films combined- Cab Calloway, James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, John Lee Hooker, Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, Matt Murphy, Lou Marini, Murph Dunne, Willie Hall, Bones Malone, Paul Schieffer, Alan Rubin... and Belushi and Ackroyd themselves are legitimate musical talents with a genuine love for the blues genre. And the band is killer, proficient in both kinds of music- Country AND Western! Watch for some sweet cameos from Carrie Fisher, Twiggy, Steve Lawrence (!), John Candy and Henry Gibson, among others. So, what are you waiting for- here's the deal: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it!

This is my favorite movie of all time. Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi had perfect chemistry together, the one-liners were great, the car chases were awesome, the theme of redemption was sweet without being sappy, and the best thing is, no character got hurt despite the rather spectacular car crashes (except for the occasional broken watch, but that's just to be expected).

Another great movie from John Landis.

The soundtrack is excellent, the amount of star cameos is amazing, the stunts are hilarious to watch, and all the film's cast are great. It's hard to believe that this film bombed at the box...

An all time classic music comedy.

This movie seems like a new classic to me. This movie is absolutely hilarious and the plot is interesting enough to keep you waiting for a while. The whole band and enemies thing made the movie pretty enjoyable and funny. Great movie!

This movie has it all. High speed chases, explosions, great music numbers, a great story and best names in the blues style music. A must have for everyone.
