Kilmer nails Morrison, the Lizard King would be amused by the depiction Val and Oliver Stone had of him, from his wild moments to his all to sober reflections. The meat of the film, and Kilmer's acme is his wild dedication to the unknown, followed closely by the love affair he shared with Pamela (Meg Ryan).
Kudos to Meg as well, for she tries desperately to destroy that image of her in sappy Romantic Comedies, and her skill as a remarkable actress is greatly reflected in movies like this one.
Stone takes us on a wild ride into the depths of what it must have been like to be one of the Doors. The trip begins as it ends, "with a story about heartache and the loss of god."
Morrison moved music and mesmerized a nation with his antics, this film explores the deeper and more tragic relationships he formed in is short time with us and how, the demons of his own doing and an industry bent on self love, effected him.
