While being a fan of Fincher, and that I have seen alot of his work, from Twin Peaks to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and his best work to this day "Seven", I havn't had the time to see Fight Club until now recently. I had pretty high expectations. Not only because Finscher directed it, but also because it is ranked the 18# best movie ever made on Imdb. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of Brad Pitt, even though he can pull of some good performances now and then. Okay, so to start out with the writing. I found it to be pretty well written, It had some nice dialouge and the plot was good. The directing is great, Fincher is a master, he really has a very unique way of directing, there is no one else quite like him. How he creates this very dark feeling. Acting wise it could have been better. Pitt is not giving one of his best performances, and Norton jumps from good to bad from scene to scene. Now, the first half of the movie is... pretty interesting, but not that great allways. Now the twist at the end is just brilliant, an that is what makes the movie so special in my opinion. Though, it does feel like it ends as quickly as it starts and the very last scene is just... hell I'll say it, wierd. But hey, it's Fincher... And he can make wierd so good.

âFight Clubâ...the post modern film, legendary, classic, and obviously a huge shift in the industry, this is it. This film is so ahead of its time and so brilliantly constructed. This review is being written years after the movieâs release, after thousands of interpretations (an anthology has been released thereâs that many), and after many personal viewings, this is a gift that keeps on giving, every time I watch it, it says something different to me. This is the most human and universal film I have ever seen. Rarely can I watch again and again and enjoy it equally or more each time, getting something else from it...not only that, with âFight Clubâ, I could watch this film repeatedly back-to-back and still experience all that. I donât need to go into detail about gritty real and purely enjoyable performances, the look and style of Fincherâs work (not his only great work either, clearly an experienced and personal director), the self awareness and post modern irony in every shot and line of dialogue, the script that begins as practically a narration of your life boiling down to the ultimate morally ambiguous possible path you might take, hell even the use of âThe Pixiesâ in the final shot is so knowledgeable/ahead of its time/and layered with meaning. I could talk about this for hours, but this film is stand out, and a normally structured review would be just plain out of line, so Iâm not going to say anymore about the aesthetics of the film. You know this movie is as every-bit as good as it gets credit for, words cannot describe; it is my favourite film of all time.

Incredible and intelligent... I've watched this over 20 times now and i still enjoy it, look forward to favourite parts and still find it inspires the way to think about things. The storyline is deep and twisted, grinding against all that society would view as "nice" and questions how and why we've all fallen into our materialistic bubbles and refuse to come out.
Brad Pitt and Ed Norton are mesmerising and Helena Bonham Carter's natural acting insanity just adds to the surrealism that engulfs this film. Meatloaf doesn't add much with his role but the idea of Bob is an eye-opening one. Plus a touch of Jared Leto as a bleached rebel is a little bonus.
It's not a film about fighting but it should leave its mark on you. If it doesn't, you need to just open your mind and... slide :)

The previous poster is right - straight after this I immediately went out and bought three of Norton's films. Fight Club really has some fantastic moments. The plot is amazing, and the twist at the end makes the whole viewing all the more worth it. I love Fincher's way of making his movies look dark, which looks very artistic and anti-blockbuster. Subtle moments of comedy are put in. Brad Pitt does a good job as the anti-material Tyler Durden and Helena does an amazing job as the suicidal love interest. This is easily one of my favourite movies and its thanks to this movie that I became a huge fan of the films of David Fincher and Edward Norton. Buy it, its well worth the cash.

Few movies come around that I can't figure out the funky twist ending. This is one of them. The dialogue alone is worth it, if the title alone doesn't sell you. The visuals are outstanding especially the fight secenes that make you think "this is Hollywood?" This is a fun smart guy flick, watch it, enjoy it and don't talk about it.
