This is another favorate horror film as well as favorate film in general. I don't want to say too much about it because the mystery is part of what makes this film great. When you think about the film as a whole it's actually quite simple it just doesn't look that way at first. This film is one that not just chalanges your perceptions but also is a rather emotional drama.

Your practically experence and are with Jake all the way. From seeing some of those strange rapid head motion demons that were inspired by the Francis Bacon paintings down to even the enviorment that changes. However what's really interesting about the film is that for once in a horror film you actually have a protagonist that you feel heavy pathos for. This was a man that has just been though Vietnam and has also lost his son. The film has some aligory on post tramatic stress, dealing with loss, and also dealing with dying. I'll admit the final minutes of the film actually made me cry which is something I rarely do in a film.

Jacob didn't just climb the ladder to his own soul but ours as well.
