this is the beginging of a great action film all 4 are great.

In Lethal weapon Mel Gibson id fantastic.
Danny Glover is great as well. The story is about a crazy cop whos new partner is a lovable father. The action is good but the fight at the end is pretty corny.

It's great when you can trace a genre back to its source. Lethal Weapon is certainly not the first odd-couple-buddy-cop flick ever made, but it definitely raised the bar for any that came after it. The pacing is impeccable, the script coherent and believable (for an action film, anyway), and the casting perfect. There are also darkly funny moments liberally salted throughout this thrill ride of a movie to lighten up its decidedly nihilistic tone. Though the film is a trendsetter in its own right, it should cede some credit to Die Hard, from which it obviously cribbed some of its look and style (even down to setting the action during that most revered of holidays, Christmas). Still, Lethal Weapon deserves kudos for showing us numerous things we never saw done that way or that well on screen before.

If you consider yourself a film aficianado of any repute, this is a must-see movie.
