Die Harder was a good, but not great, movie. It's impossible to top the first one, of course.
Die Harder tried to amp up the action with a couple impressive set-pieces. Unfortunately this also stretched the limits of plausibility and survivability for our hero, John McClane.
As action movies go, it was pretty good. The disappointment felt is mainly the let down from one of the all time greats, the original Die Hard.

This installment of Die Hard is ok, but nothing combared to the first one. Willis is still very good and the action is not as good as the last on. But all in all, this movie is still pretty good.

VASTLY inferior sequel. After the unqualified success of Die Hard, you can't blame them for trying to cash in, but this movie is an obvious example of what can go wrong when commerce is placed ahead of quality. You can almost hear the pitch meetings: Let's have Die Hard on a plane! Yeah, and let's bring back Holly, and Al, and even Thornburg- no matter how unrealistic that makes the plot! Twice the explosions! Oh, and make sure he gets to say Yippie Ki Yay Mother****** at least once! Marginally watchable, if you are a completist. Otherwise, stick to the original and the underrated but very good Die Hard With A Vengeance.

The second installment of the Die Hard series deliver once again a Christmas feeling with an action packed thrill ride. Bruce Willis, once again plays New York Cop, John McClane offduty in the nation's capital. At the Washington Dulles Airport, he patiently waits for his wife(Bonnie Bedelia). But tensions turned when a group of terrorist led by their murdeous leader, Stuart(William Sadler) takes over a church near the airport terminal and control all the systems and frequencies. The Chief Engineer and the Swat team attempt to find the dish that will help the airplanes circling in the sky go down safely but when they attempt that, the swat team got amushed and the dish destroyed causing the terrorist to use their frequency to go down and blow up. A team of terrorist wants to rescue a drug lord from justice. Amdist a blinding blizzard. McClane's wife(Bonnie Bedelia)is trapped in a plane desperately low on fuel, circling overhead. Theres a media personnel on the same plane as McClane's wife that discover the frequency and record it to call his news so that it can cause havoc throughout the airport. Calling the counter-terrorist led by Major Grant, takes over the operation and soon finds out that the terrorists is in the church, so that they can alert the terrorists and can a chance to escape. McClane soon figures out that both the terrorist and the counter terrorists were shooting blanks at each other, pretending to fight. The Visual effects are awesome in this movie, its intriguing to see John McClane destroy an airplane with only a lighter and leaking fuel from the plane. The first movie was characterized by having a superb cast of villians but this doesn't. The villians in this movie aren't that menacing or evil. Overall, Die Hard: Die Harder is a good movie that has some benefits to it. For Die Hard fans or action fans, this movie is truly worth checking out but for other people, should just watch the first movie.

Not as good as the other Die Hards, but still a very good movie. I love all the references to the first one in it. I loved all the twists in the plot of this one. The others don't have nearly as many twists as this one does. I love the premise too. I don't know why, but I like the plot. It is way more than revenge, yet also more than robbery. I love this movie.

What at first seems like a great story for another action filled Die Hard movie with it taking place in Washington Dulles airport with hundreds of people trapped in planes circling the air, Die Hard 2: Die Harder falls a little flat. While the action in the movie is still pretty good, where it fails is in the villains. The first Die Hard was characterized by having a great cast of villains, but sadly in Die Hard 2, the villains are, well, forgettable. But, as said before, the action sequences are pretty good and the rest of the cast does a good job.
Overall, Die Hard 2: Die Harder is a good action movie at best. It gets hampered down by having a pretty forgettable cast of villains, whose overall agenda is also forgettable. For action fans, Die Hard 2 is still a worthy movie to check out. For those who aren't fans of the genre, I suggest checking out the first Die Hard before heading this direction.

It's the weakest of three Die Hard films, the bad guy is forgettable, and the action scenes are nearly nowhere as good as the first Die Hard game. The addition of Dennis Franz was good, but was undercut with Fred Dalton Thompson, as he's just a bad actor, and in every movie or TV show he plays the same character. 7/10.
