I remember seeing this movie a few years back, and I liked it so much I taped it. I just saw it again yesterday, and it's still very good.

I remember seeing this movie a few years back, and I liked it so much I taped it. I just saw it again yesterday, and it's still very good.

It's basically a present-day version of 'The Body Snatchers', only with really thirsty brain slugs. It's aimed at a youth audience, with themes such as 'adults vs teens', 'authority vs the masses', 'teachers vs students', as well as including tons of that weird soapy-drama of 'boy likes girl', 'girl likes boy', 'teacher likes boy', 'gym coach is possibly a boy phaedophile'. There's also a portion of drug use, cursing, 'The Breakfast Club' clique divisions, and violent displays of cool movie effects.

All-star cast: including Josh Harnett (from Lucky Number Sleven), Robert Patrick (the bad Terminator from Terminator 2), Jon Stewart (of the Jon Stewart show), Danny Masterson (Hyde from that 70s Show), and Elijah Wood (from Lord of the Rings). I'm still trying to figure out which actress is hottest; Famke Janssen (from X-Men), Laura Harris (from Dead Like Me), Bebe Neuwirth (from Cheers), or Clea DuVall (a hot, pseudo-lesbian). Oh, and there's also Salma Hayek, but she's not really hot.

Sometimes, this movie is really bad. Not so bad you'd want to turn it off, just B-Movie bad, so that makes it funny. At one point the characters are ordering someone to take cocaine or get shot, which would probably surprise someone just tuning in.

WITHOUT A DOUBT: Stokes is the worst nickname ever given to anyone. I don't care if you work as a professional stoker, Stokes is without a doubt the stupidest, worst nickname that has ever been thought up. (If you're going to have characters yelling eachother's names a lot, you shouldn't name your character Stokley, Stokes, or any variation.)

Movie Poster: It is sort of strange that the movie poster features Usher Raymond (a basic nobody in the film), who is in the spot of Shawn Hatosy (one of the six main characters).

It's a really good movie, with a surprise twist ending, as well as one of those happy endings, where everyone goes home with a loot bag. Go watch it, before the invaders come and take over your brain.

A thrilling, suspenseful and interesting movie about a creature taking over the entire school will keep you on the edge of your seat since the beginning 'till the end. A classic.
