Happy-go-lucky Irish immigrant John Lawless finds himself the new butler of the Biddles, an unconventional millionaire family in which the father teaches Bible classes and boxing, and holds a collection of pet alligators in high regard. Daughter Cordy, upset that any young courters are scared away by her family's peculiarities, finds herself at an odds when she realizes that she must choose between being a lady, or being a boxer. Opting to be a lady, she goes off to boarding school. There she meets the man of her dreams, Angie Duke, whose obsessions and ambitions lie in automobiles. The two plan to marry, but their familes are at a great odds with one another, and stand to make things difficult for them. Chock full of original songs, and one of the last live-action films to be overseen by Walt Disney. Based upon the play by Kyle Chichton, and the book My Philadelphia Father by Cordelia Drexel Biddle and Kyle Crichton.
