The Story begins in 1918,a little boy is running through the streets at night.He arrives at the back door of an after hours candy store where he was sent on an errand by the Stores Proprietor Sugar Ray who also runs an after hours crap game.When the kid arrives,the crap game is already in progress.An irate gambler already having a string of bad luck is further angry when the kid enters the room(kids bring him bad luck).Ray calms the man down by assuring him that the kid is cool.Still,the gambler is not happy,and when he shoots the dice,he craps out.Now he is very angry,so much so that he threatens everybody in the room with a knife.Suddenly a shot rings out.The angry gambler is hit between the eyes.The kid having picked up Rays gun fires it.Ray tells his cohorts to take the body out.The kid who is orphaned is adopted by Ray.Twenty years go by,and Ray is a sucessful Nightclub owner.A now grown Quick is (along with being Ray's adopted son his adopted son,and muscle looking out to see that everything in the Club goes well.However when two of Mobster Bugsy Calhoun's henchmen one being Tommy Smalls,and Bugsy's girlfriend Dominique LaRue enter the Club Sugar Ray's,things start to happen for the worst.Quick is instintly smitten by LaRue,but Sugar Ray warns Quick to be cautious with her.Sugar Ray becomes suspicious of the trio's visit to his place(he believes that they are checking out his place to see what if any competition they might be giving Calhoun).
