Flowers In The Attic is an on the edge of your seat thriller about a greedy mother who diobeyed her father and is now a single mother again, has to clue to how she is going to raise her family. Her parents are very rich and live in a mansion. She tries to contant her family to seak forgiveness and move herself and her family home. She convinces her mother to allow her to move home but never to let her father know that she is back. The children are allowed to play in one room of the enormous house. They were told it was for a very short time until the grandfather passes. He was supposed to be on deaths door. The children were brought up food in the morning to feed them all day. There was enough for all four of them in the beginning but their portions became smaller as time passed and their mothers visits were less and less often as time passed. It was the grandmother who brought them their food each day. The grandmother had a list of rules for the children to abide by. But as day turned into weeks and longer the children became curious and began to venture up the forbidden stairs in the closet. At the end of the stairway was an enormous attic. Filled with all kinds of things from relatives past. The children set off to clean up the attic to make it a play room. They finally did and had some place to go to that the grandmother would not go to. The months turned into years and the children, who were growing physically, mentally and emotionally became curious of different things about themselves and each other. One day the grandmother brought up their tray and this time there was a powered sugar doughnut on it. Never being allowed sweets before this was quite a surprise. Corey the youngest boy and the twin of Carrie wasn't eating much so Cathy the oldest girl and Christopher the oldest boy would give their doughnut to Corey so he would be eating something. The more the doughnuts came and were eaten the sicker Corey became. One day Corey was so sick when the grandmother came to bring them food Christopher demanded that Corey be taken to the hospital. After much mulling the grandmother left the room. Christopher was about to find a way to break free from their prision to get Corey some help when their mother showed up. Finally after the coaxing from the other children and even the grandmother, Corrine, the mother decided to take him. She arrived back several hours later to tell the remaining children Corey had died. Christopher knew they must get out of the house before the same thing happened to them. The children must survive a nightmare of brutal cruelty, forbidden passion and a final shocking discovery that will shatter their innocence forever.
