Film making at its finest. When not making you smile and laugh about its quirky jokes and brilliant acting; you are moved by its powerful themes and saddening truths about human nature, and the will to be free. A classic.

I recently sat down and watched this movie. I really do not know why I haven't watched it beforehand. It has now become one of my all-time favorite films. Jack Nicholson is performing at the top of his game in this film, and the supporting characters are endearing. Nurse Ratchet is up there with some of Hollywood's greatest villains.

Whohooo! Another 5 star rating from me! One Flew Over The Cuckoo´s Nest is a masterpiece and a milestone of how a movie should be made. From the charming start to the chocking ending it holds you in a strong grip. The movie succeeds to capture art and fiction on the same screen, and belive me there is not many movies that does that, Ex. The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Heat, Lawrence Of Arabia and Pan´s Labyrinth is exaples of movies that have done just that. The acting is... Unbelevable! Jack Nicholson makes his best preformance ever and i think the other does that too :p. Anyway maybe it´s just me but the movie entertains and charms and chocks, and those things makes this one of the best movies ever made (3rd or 4th place at my top 10 list).

Definitely my favorite Jack Nicholson role. You fall in love with all the characters and Nurse Ratchet might possibly be the greatest villain of all time.

This film is expressly thick with the characters first created in the book. Some of the best adaptation ever exposed for film by Bo Goldman and Ken Kesey.
Each character is deep and expressive, especially Jack Nicholson's Randle and Louise Fletcher's Nurse Ratched. There are moments where you get the feeling that deep down they could like each other in a different world, but then again, are those simply allusions to hidden processes they fight in their own tilled soil?
The direction by Milos Forman, whom made a collection of very exotic foreign films before this, is well placed for a very serious character driven plot.
This is a beautiful piece of work, along with a rather simple and elegant story, that will leave you pondering the possibility of promise and the wonder at how powerful hope can be, even in the face more powerful enemies.
