Y'know, thinking back to the time I saw this, not so long ago, I realize that this movie really did grip you. It wasn't all that great when it came to effects or acting, or for that matter, realism.

It was original, but somewhat lacking in effects. I mean, seriously, every time one of the Graboids appeared, you knew they were fake. There wasn't like, any part of you that was terribly scared, because you knew it was totally fake.

The scene that really made me wanna puke, but made me think 'Oh my god, the effects are terrible!' was when the one dude accidentally stabbed one of the Graboids with his driller thingy. The blood made me wanna puke, but it was so fake. You could tell, easily.

I can't really say much on this movie, but I was disappointed. I was told I would be scared, and likely get nightmares (High School Musical gave me more nightmares than this), and yet, I watched it quietly, and in the end, looked thoroughly bored with the fact that the most I had done was twitch the entire movie.

I rented this movie in desperation one night, because it was one of the last ones left. I expected to not like it very much, because I had never heard of it. Talk about a pleasant surprise- this is a solid "B" movie. And I mean that in the best possible way. The special effects were quite convincing, given the low-budget feel of the production. What could have been a standard monster story is handled in a novel way with liberal doses of humor and dozens of priceless lines delivered convincingly by the perfectly cast major characters. Speaking of the cast, you gotta love a flick that casts Michael Gross, the ultra-sensitive New Age guy on Family Ties as militaristic, Red-stater Bert, pairs him with the delicious Reba McEntire (yeah, THAT Reba) as his equally firepower-obsessed wife, AND throws in the criminally underemployed Fred Ward as well as the ubiquitous Kevin Bacon for good measure!

I usually don't like stuff like this but I thoroughly enjoyed this film and it was original.

I prefer the Tv series. The acting in the movie was terrible but the story was interesting and had potential. they realized this potential with the Tv series, but the movie was simply awful in many points.

I found this movie to be cool and entertaining. I remember watching this movie when I was like 5 and loving it. and I just watched it again for the first time since then and I still love it.

This movie was really cool. I really like the idea of the monsters underground, something does not happen very often on cinema. Cool plot, though the next storylines are not as great as this one, without Kevin Bacon...

The trifecta of terrifica: Giant worms, great dialog, and Kevin Bacon. This movie is far far better than you would have any sensible reason to believe.
