this movie a SPOOF was great for the time it truely touched on what everyone was thinking and these guys found a way to put it together.

Jim Abrahams (Naked Gun, Airplane) is a comedy director/writer like no other. His crude humor is hilarious for some but not everyone. I love the comedy style in his movies, Hot Shots is no exeption. The movie is very funny. It makes of movies like Top Gun and the experience is of cource better if you´ve seen it. Acting is good from Sheen. Directing good, funny writing. Hot Shots is a very funny movie that is not recomended for everyone, but if you like Naked Gun or Airplane this is something for you.

From the famed comic writer Jim Abrahams of Airplane!, Naked Gun, and Top Secret, comes Hot Shots! a spoof of the late 80s and early 90s movies, most notable being Top Gun. Charlie Sheen stars as Topper Harley, the hot shot pilot who wants to be the best there is. Insert Cary Elwes and Jon Cryer as Harley's wingmen, Cryer in this case plays a pilot who has a wall-eye disability. Hilarity ensues as Harley tries to overcome death and get at Saddam.

For the style of humor that is Jim Abrahams, Charlie Sheen is a perfect fit. Elwes and Cryer are okay for their parts, and the late Lloyd Bridges is of course off the hook. The story mirrors that of Top Gun in a great way so that those who have seen the movie will get it the best.

Overall, Hot Shots! is a great comedy. If you've seen Airplane! and/or Naked Gun, then you will love Hot Shots!, even though it isn't as loaded with jokes as the previously mentioned movies.
