Priest Fred Sultan (Samuel L. Jackson) is a boxing promotor and a menager of a champion in hard category-James Roper (Damon Wayans). James is a black boxer whoses strenght and skill considerably surpasses his inteligence.Sultan has everything clerly-he would get big money if he would organise an match between white and blackman, because there is no one that can win James. Terry Conklyn (Peter Berg) once defeated Roper, but now he is leading a rock-band and he does not spends time boxing anymore.
