In the fourth movie, Highlander: Endgame, Connor, realizes that everyone he cares about dies due to his immortal foes. He goes to the "sanctuary", a place set up by the "Watchers" which aims to safely preserve Immortals by taking them out of the "game". This will ensure that no one wins the prize. After it is attacked by his enemy, Jacob Kell, he realizes that neither he nor his fellow clansman, Duncan can defeat Jacob alone.
