This was the first film with one of my favorate comeidan's I've seen I seen it when I was about 10 and I'll be honest this one is one of his good one's in my book anyway. It's basically pulp action comidy similar to "Big Trouble in Little China" and that's cool with me since I have a knack for pulp adventure.

What really made this film work was Eddie himself playing it straght reacting like any ordinary person would if ever thrown into a beyond belief fantastic sittuaion which made it all the more funny and gave it a sense of accesibility and belivablity cause I felt I might react the same as him, whether reluctant or teed off. But most of all he was a likeable character whom was rough around the edges but does the right thing no matter what.

Even the support cast were great like the fact James Wan and Victor Wong were in it which is ironic. Charlete Lewis is great as the beautiful bodyguard for Murphy she keeps a straght face, steedy and mysterious mannerism; both Murphy and her do have great chemestry. Charles Dance is a very good villain I remember as a kid being a little scared of this guy, he just has that presence and the sofisticated sinster tone to his voice, he's a passive agressive type villan; most of the time in the film it looks like he's doing nothing and yet he's doing something. It's like you know he's about to take action somewhere along the line and when the moment comes he does.

The action is good like for example my favorate action sequence is the suspensful pole test, special effects also good though nothing exactly mindblowing but FXs are what make this film good. But most of all it's enertaining and downright fun and funny. One of the most hilarious scenes in fact my favorate scene for me is when Murphy is trying to sneak the dagger into customs, trust me it's comic gold.

So, overall I recomend this film, The Golden Child is comic gold.

Eddie is a good comedian. I didn't like the sounds that were played when something happened. Like when the woman jumped off the balcony. This made the movie a little bit more lame. Medusa being in this movie makes it fictitious. Also a boy who could make what's dead come back to life. It had it's very funny parts as well as it's boring parts.
