The start to a great horror series. I really like the first movie even though by today's standards it is pretty tame. This movie gave me nightmares way back then which is a sign of a good horror movie. This is a must add to any horror movie night.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is a sheer classic and really created a landmark in the horror genre. I really do think that, but I also think it's really not that scary.

when i first saw this movie when i was a kid it scared the crap out of me. now that im 34years old i still get scare of this film. i love that. freddy is one of my favourite horror icons. when he goes after the kids in elm street. and kills them...

I remeber the first time i saw it when I was eleven years old. It was on tv in the wee hours of the night & I was so scared that I had most of the scenes on mute & I didn't go to bed until 4 am. What makes this scary is that in the movie...

Starts off and ends very abruptly with very little explanation as to what's going on.While the films villain Freddy Krueger is a classic he is a ridiculous excuse for a killer.How many poltergeists do you see launching themselves like a pro...
