From Slashfilm:

The guy who sent me this said that if you play the Alternate Opening Scene and pause it at 2:25 into it, you'll see the above image. Pretty damn cool. If it's real, it's a hell of an Easter Egg for the DVD.

From MTV:

However, with the release of the new "Incredible Hulk" DVD, those who were hoping to see Cap make his cinematic debut (yes, debut – we're just gonna forget about the original 1990 film) can finally catch a glimpse — and the key word being "glimpse" — of Cap and his mighty shield thanks to the new highly-touted alternate opening scene which takes place in the Arctic Circle, where a despondent Bruce Banner goes to kill himself having failed to come up with a cure for his curse.

Granted, those who want to see Cap will need the help of a super high-definition television and DVD combo, but if you look closely — very closely — he's there in the background, frozen in ice just waiting to be found and reanimated a la his classic comic book origin. If you need further help spotting him, the fellas over at SlashFilm have a great series of photos as well as a drawing showing the outline of what's clearly Captain America and his shield. Regardless, between this and Nick Fury's appearance at the end of "Iron Man," Marvel continues to give fans plenty to be excited about for their upcoming films.

So could that be the much ballyhoed CAP CAMEO in HULK?

I was somehow expecting more, but I am glad that they are at least trying.

Its been awhile, and i'm confused...why is Captain America a frozen snow man and shown very quickly in the Incredible Hulk?
Posted Oct 17, 2008 3:55 pm PT
WOW MR.BLUE IS NOT CAPT AMERICA LOL he is The Leader he gets a big brain becuz hulk blood drips of his head and is green.....and capt is frozen in world war 2 so thats a reference to it.

Lol, Mr. Blue as Captain America.. what a silly notion. Samuel Sterns was pretty much only introduced so he could be the Leader in the Avengers film, is my guess.. If not that film some other of big significance. But, if not the Avengers film, screw it all.

Yes thats right, Sam Sterns is the Leader (big brain guy from the hulk comics). i almost forgot that name... can it be Leonard the "head shrink", is dr. leonard samson?

Also loved the bill bixy tv cameo & the jack mcgee & jim wilson names mentioned.

Mr.Blue is not Captain America the only refrence to Captain America in Incredible Hulk is the Blue Serum that was injected in Bolowsky (Abomination) which was the same serum used on Captain America..And Samuel Stern Aka Mr Blue is known later on as "Leader" his brain becomes huge and all that as you saw in incredible hulk he got infected with bruce's blood

The movie makes another reference to Captain America if you are quick to pick up on it. Happens just before Gen. Ross tells Blonsky about Banners work (while they are in the hanger). Ross mentions a program used in WW2, Blonksy confirms its the "Super Soldier", and them Ross says he has dusted it off and has "him" doing work, bold work. "Him" = Captain America the WW2 Super Soldier.

Finally someone gets the reference about the "super soldier" experiments starting ww2. my friends thought i was nuts. anyway was does this mean for Banner? when he said as the Hulk: "hulk Smash" it was another clue saying the the hulk had some intelligence because he was able to speak. and at the end Banner is smiling when he is about to turn into the hulk. How? Why? please some ideas.

Iron Man has a Captain America reference, so the Hulk has to have one too. That's pretty lame. The whole Incredible Hulk movie was mostly cameos, references, and hints of other things. Enough to give the geeks a smile or two but on its own, the movie was pretty weak. There were all these big name actors in it, but they didn't do anything memorable. This movie only did well because of the momentum of Iron Man.

OK first the reason that Cap is frozen in ice in the movie is because it happened in his comic at the end of ww2 while fighting the red scull both where frozen in ice cap was later discovered by namor during the human altanis war. 2 at the end of the movie when bruce begins to show that he can control the hulk and that the hulk begins to become smart it is because of the the so called sure he took instead of curing him it causes him to be able to remain in his mind while in hulk form later the hulk and him become one or at least thats what happens in the comics

Demonfire99, actually there was an alternate opening. It is on the second disc of the two disc edition, so I don't believe that it appears on the single disc version. The scene is as described, and Cap can be vaguely seen within the ice.
