TRANSFORMERS 2 is getting a lot of press right now. Spy pics of cars adorned with Autobot logos, unconfirmed set reports, and Michael Bay's promise to feed us misinformation have led to a lot of questions. So let's take a moment and discuss the various confirmed and unconfirmed bots that may grace the silver screen next summer:

Optimus Prime

I think we can expect to see the flame-job adorned Autobot leader next time around. While we don't know if there will be any changes, I think that we'll be hearing Peter Cullen again.

Bumblebee

The 'love connection' Camaro should be back, but with a few changes. Earlier today I posted a few spy photos of a very aggressive looking Bumblebee. I still attest to that fact that this is an evil Bumblebee...maybe an evil Bumblebee that can shapeshift into Brian Austin Green and marry Megan Fox.

Ratchet

Will be back but there are rumors that he will be a more run-of-the-mill Hummer H2 rather than the Search and Rescue H2.

Ironhide

No rumors on changes to ole' Ironhide. I guess gas prices aren't affecting some people.

Arcee

A pink/purple Autobot excised from the first movie, because, and I quote, "explaining her gender would take to much screen time." I guess the craptastic appearance of Bernie Mac couldn't be scaled back...

Stinger

I can't seem to remember a Stinger from the cartoon, so I am assuming that this character is a creation of Mr. Bay, but we do know that the vehicle mode will be based on a Corvette XR1.

Wheeljack

This one depressed me. No longer will be Wheeljack be the unique and beautiful Lancia Stratos, but Saab's latest concept the Aero-X.

And then we have the unconfirmable...

This group of new Chevy minicars apparently play some important role in the film...here's hoping that there is 5 of them, and that they assemble into some sort of bigger bot.

This ice cream truck is reportedly an Autobot that splits into two smaller bots referred to as the "Twins."
